The Man

They say every dog has his day … and for our own Remdawg, that day is here. Join NESN and the Red Sox as we celebrate Jerry Remy Day on June 24, 2008.

Remy played 10 seasons in the major leagues (seven with the Red Sox) as a second baseman. The Somerset, Mass., native signed with the California Angels in 1971 and was traded to the Red Sox in December of 1977. He retired as a player during spring training in 1986.

On April 6, 1988, Remy joined NESN as the network’s Red Sox color analyst. Since joining NESN, he has worked over 2,700 Red Sox games as a broadcaster, won four Emmy Awards and was named the Massachusetts Sportscaster of the Year in 2004. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2006 and was voted President of Red Sox Nation by fans of the team in 2007.

I love you Jerry. The Sox would not be the same without you.
