Massachusetts sues federal government over marriage law – CNN.com

“We’re taking this action today because, first, we believe that [the Defense of Marriage Act] directly interferes with Massachusetts’ long-standing sovereign authority to define and regulate the marital status of its residents,” Attorney General Martha Coakley said Wednesday afternoon.

I’m glad that AG Coakley is going after DOMA in this way.Especially after the whole crap with Obama changing his mind about repealing it. This and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” are two of the biggest hurdles the LGBT community needs to overcome. Good luck Martha.
